American Legion Post 255 in National City discovered the Department of California's Oratorical Champion and third place finisher at the National Oratorical Contest held in Indianapolis on 14 and 15 April 2018. The American Legion Endowed Veteran Scholarship @ SDSU Awardee Announced

The 2017 recipient of The American Legion District 22 Endowed Veterans Scholarship is Joseph Ross. Joseph served in the United States Air Force, he's a former Firefighter with a degree in Fire Technology. Aside from his studies at SDSU, he is an advocate for Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and enjoys volunteering with Honor Flight San Diego.
